Office Information

Financial Terms

Payment is due at the time that services are rendered. Patients with dental insurance will pay an "estimated patient portion" which will be due at the time that services are rendered. Any remaining balance is due within 30 days after the insurance pays.

For your convenience we accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and debit cards.

For larger treatment plans we offer financing through Care Credit and Dental Fee Plan. Applications for financing must be submitted and approved prior to treatment date. Please contact our Finanical Coordinator for an application or additional information.

Dental Insurance

Understanding your dental insurance benefits can be confusing. Providing accurate information for our patients can be challenging because each policy is different, each policy has exclusions and policies that can change at any time. Some companies offer several different policies with the exact same group number making it difficult for us to be able to differentiate. We attempt to check policy information by phone but even then, the information provided over the phone is not a guarantee of benefits.

Preferred Providers

Some dental insurance companies want you to choose a dentist from a list of their "preferred" or "participating" providers. Whether or not you choose from this list can affect your insurance benefits.

Usual, Customary and Reasonable - Each insurance company determines its own unique set of "usual and customary" fees for all dental procedures. Insurance companies are not required to disclose these fees. Also, there is no regulation stating how insurance companies arrive at these fees, resulting in wide fluctuation. Since benefits are based on this mysterious fee, we are only able to estimate the patient portion for each visit.

Maximums

Even though the cost of dental care has significantly increased over the years, maximum levels of insurance reimbursements have remained the same since the late 1960's. We encourage you not to let these outdated limits prevent you form receiving treatment, which might jeopardize your health.

Our office is dedicated to providing our patients with excellent dental care regardless of the limitations set by the dental insurance industry. We rely on Dr. Brown's extensive experience and training to determine what is best for your dental health and overall wellbeing........not your dental insurance company.

Emergency Coverage

We reserve time in our schedule for emergencies each day. Contact our office as early in the morning as possible. If you need attention after office hours, you can call Dr. Brown at home 24 hours a day. Her cellular phone is (859) 312-7488.

Appointment Cancellations

When you schedule an appointment, we reserve time specifically for you. If you do not keep your appointment, that time is not used. Thus, if you are not able to cancel your appointment, with a minimum of 2 business days notice, then a fee may be charged to cover this time.

Referrals

Many people think that in a busy practice we do not accept new patients. This is not so. We are always accepting new patients and are glad to see family or friends of yours. Through our "Care to Share" program, you and the new patient you refer are eligible for a special gift.
